Fostering a culture of Excellence with IT Sustainability
FFITS.Org has partnered with ECCI to educate the Philippine market on IT Sustainability
Manila, Philippines – July 31, 2012: The ECCI group, the leading process improvement solutions provider in SouthEast Asia, will be holding the first Green IT Practitioner workshop onAugust 16-17, 2012 at the New World Hotel Makati, Philippines. The workshop, which is the result of the collaboration between the Foundation for IT Sustainability (FFITS.Org) and ECCI is a leap towards a more sustainable IT industry in the Philippines, as the 2 organizations aim to empower the Philippine IT industry through education on Green IT practices and concepts.
Discussions between FFITS.Org and ECCI started in April 2012, in order for the two organizations to learn more about one another and the potential opportunities that can be collaborated on. The ECCI group shared the increase in awareness with regard to IT Sustainability practices in the Philippines based on their partnerships with several big corporations in the country. This led to their interest in learning more about the FFITS.Org Training and Certification Programs and how this can be integrated in their current set of world-class courses and certifications.
A formal Memorandum of Understanding was signed on July 19, 2012 by Mark Winter, Founder and Chairman of the Board of FFITS.Org, and Karthik Subburaman, Country Manager for ECCI Group (Philippines), to formally establish the collaboration between both organizations.
Using the Fundamentals of IT Sustainability, FFITS.Org’s Online Training module, the ECCI group created what is now the Green IT Practitioner workshop – a 2 day workshop that discusses the need for Energy Efficiency practices in the IT industry.
